Kyu Grading
The next kyu grading will be on Sunday 24th September 2017 at 1.30pm.
 
August Bank Holiday Monday Gasshaku
Classes are 11am till 1pm, then 2.30pm till 4.30pm - £20 for the day. Classes are detailed, carefully taught, and suitable for any level.
 
Special Class - Irimi Nage Counters
Andy's next special class will be on Sunday 27th August at 1pm and it will be 'Irimi Nage Counters'
 
Weapons Classes
The Ken class and Jo class have swapped days at Rushmore School. The Ken class is now on Sunday mornings 10-12 noon, and the Jo class is now on Tuesday evenings 8-10pm
 
Thursday night children's class
The Thursday night children's class has now adjourned for the Summer, and will restart on Thursday 7 September 2017.

Tuesday 8-10pm Ken class re-starts on 10 January 2017
 
Christmas & New Year break
The dojo closes on 24 December at 12 noon after the Saturday morning class. The dojo is then closed until Saturday 31 December when it is open again only for the Saturday morning class. There is a special seminar on Monday 2nd January 2017 from 11am till 4.30pm (£20, all welcome) and no other classes that day. All classes return to normal on Tuesday 3rd January.

Tuesday night Meditation and Chi Kung class
Please contact Ali on 07448 813272 or aliqikong@gmail.com. He is an experienced martial arts and meditation instructor who spent seven years studying in a shaolin monastery in China. This class is from 6.30-8pm and comprises 30 minutes of Chi Kung and 1 hour of meditation.

Self protection Class for Adults 6 September 2015
Don't want to spend time learning martial arts or complicated fighting systems, just interested in something like a 'first aid' class? Attend a 2 hour 'Functional Edge' self protection class taught by senior Aikido instructor Janice Hemmings - more on the Self Defence page.

A revised timetable is in operation on the above dates. The majority of students and instructors will be attending the Inagaki shihan seminar in Birmingham that weekend. Sensei Andy Hathaway will return to teaching on Tuesday 26 May at Rushmore School.

Aiki Weapons

Don't forget that there is another seminar on Bank Holiday Monday 4th June taught by sensei Andy Hathaway. Day starts at 11am with a 2 hour class, followed by another 2 hour class at 2.30pm. As usual, the 6.30pm class will run as normal, but the 8pm class will not run. Plus, you get Tuesday off work to celebrate with the Queen.
 
May Day Seminar
Many thanks to all the students who turned up to train on May Day bank holiday, and made the day go so well. Next seminar is on 4th June 2012. You can train on Monday, and stll have Tuesday off. How good is that?

Dan Grading Saturday 10 December 2011
Thanks to everyone who took part in the dan grading on Saturday afternoon/evening. Congratulations to new shodans Batu Onver, Jo Wheeler, Sam Akopian and Simon Beer. Extra congratulations to Aya Phipps on becoming a nidan.
 
New Years Day Seminar
On Monday January 2nd, there will be a day time seminar at the Windus Road dojo, Stoke Newington. The morning class will run from 11 till 1pm, and the afternoon class will run from 2.30pm till 4.30pm. Cost of the day is £20, and the classes will be suitable for all levels. If you think you're not experienced enough - don't worry, just come and have a go. Start the new year as you mean to go on!

Easter Monday (25 April 2011) Bank Holiday training
There was an extra special day of training on Monday 25th April taught by Andy Hathaway sensei. A lot of ground was covered, including all the kokyu ho variations. Thanks to everyone who made it such a success. The photo below is of the students who attended on the day
Advertising
A5 poster
Student Simon Beer has produced some new advertising materials for the dojo. There is an A5 poster (illustrated) and cards with the same design and a map on the back. There are different materials for the Acton and Windus Road Dojos. If you know of a public place (leisure centres, libraries, cafes that type of place) where they will allow you to leave cards or pin up a small poster, please collect some from the respective dojos.

At Last! Eighteen months after the last one - there is a newsletter for April 2011, and a page on the website where you can look at some old newsletters.
